Some recent feedback from our students.
Monika Hadju, Recruitment Partner, Siemens Energy (MA Human Resource Management) “Julie Haddock-Millar was one of my lecturers during graduate studies at Middlesex University. She helped me to grasp the subject of ’Strategic Human Resource Management’ in a very structured and effective way. Julie is an inspiring and knowledgeable lecturer and advisor, connects with her students very well. She expertly guided and encouraged independent thinking in classes, which was very helpful in creating challenging and resourceful debates in and outside the classroom. I am thankful to have met Julie, and that I had the opportunity to study such complex module with her expert help. Her leadership and support was very valuable to me throughout my studies.”
Lulu, Lead HR Policy Analyst, Greater London Authority (MA Human Resource Management) “Julie Haddock-Millar was one of my lecturers for the Strategic Human Resource Management and Development module that formed a part of the wider MA HRM course at Middlesex University. Julie also acted as my personal supervisor for the final dissertation for the MA course. Both roles were fulfilled exceptionally well by Julie. One of Julie’s key strengths lies in her ability to build and maintain wonderful rapport with people, especially her students. It is this quality that has allowed her to continually excel in her role within the university. Her ability to connect well with her students and her talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics, are both truly superior. As a supervisor, Julie provided outstanding support, encouragement and guidance that enabled me to successfully complete my dissertation.”
Octavia McDonald, Undergraduate student at University of Bristol reading Geography BSc “Julie started helping me with my geography A level, although not her specialised subject area, she was able to help greatly with my exam technique which resulted in an A* grade at A2. Julie has also been hugely helpful with my course (Geography BSc at the University of Bristol), in all unit areas but particularly with my dissertation. Julie’s research skills make her versatile to any subject and I can honestly say I wouldn’t know what I was doing without her. Julie is the most enthusiastic, calm and encouraging tutor and she makes a very good teacher.”
Natalie Balfe, Undergraduate student at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, BA Fashion Contour “I would recommend Croxley tutors, because they offer personal, professional and excellent tutoring. During my time with Julie, I found the tutoring extremely helpful and enjoyable and would look forward to each session. Julie has experience with working with dyslexic students, which is evident by her patience and flexible teaching approach. With her dedication, my written ability has improved tremendously. Julie has helped me to progress both personally and professionally and has increased my confidence in my own abilities, enabling me to reach my full potential. With her support and encouragement I was able to achieve a first class honours in my final year dissertation, a grade I did not think I was capable of. I am extremely grateful for Julies support. Julie’s influential educational drive has motivated me to pursue further studies alongside my career.”
University student: BSc Management 2:1 (Hons) The University of Manchester (2011-2014) “Julie tutored me through my University studies to help me achieve my full potential and overcome my dyslexia. Julie helped me gain a full understanding of subjects I was struggling with and assisted me with developing my essay writing skills up to university standard. I felt the jump from A level Business to University level was vast and Julie made the transition much easier and she gave me the ability to achieve my goal of a 2:1 (Hons) degree.”
University student: New Media Degree – University of Leeds (2012-2015) “Julie has enabled me to cope with the challenges with doing a university degree. The degree involves writing a number of complex essays including a dissertation. Julie has primarily helped me to understand the requirements of each module and how to structure and format the essays to a high standard. Without Julie’s guidance I would struggle with university pressure and not achieve to my best ability.”
Zara Ali, BA Business Law Degree at Middlesex University (2009 – 2012) “Once successfully completing my A-level’s I decided to go to University and continue on to doing Law, I chose Business Law as my degree. The main topics covered during my degree were employment Law and Contract Law and on the business side I studied Leadership and Business Management. Even though I understood the topics being covered, I was certain I would still need support from Julie. Therefore, in my second and third year of university, I continued to receive one to one tuition from Julie. Like before, I received a full one to one session from Julie who continued to support me with assignment’s and exam revision. By now, Julie became a fantastic mentor as well as a close friend. In my third year, I started the pressure started to build up especially when I had a deadline to meet. However, with Julie’s continues support, she supported me in every way and helped me tackle the pressure! I felt I was not alone and could turn to Julie whenever I wanted to.. I sometimes struggled with Company Law and was unable to get to grips with the topic. However, Julie advised me to undertake further reading and use a structured template for when I am answering questions. I would see Julie one a week and would feel confident every time I was in my lectures and seminars. I would be able to answer seminar questions, and do the homework without struggling. In my final year, I visited Julie three times a week as I was asked to complete a project as well as undertake final year exams.”
