Our 1 and 2-day intensive GCSE Revisions courses for English and Mathematics will run this October (see below for dates).  Our teachers are familiar with the anxiety that can accompany an exam resit. Small group sessions can bolster confidence providing a reassuring environment to discuss ideas and hone in on what is relevant in a disciplined group setting.

 

GCSE Mathematics

Who is this for?

The GCSE Mathematics revision courses for is students in Year 12 and 13 or anyone who has already sat a GCSE and not got their desired grade.  Our GCSE maths revision course will help you improve your maths skills and knowledge and boost your confidence so you get the best result in your maths exam this November.

What will I be taught?

Over the course of the two days, you will be taught intensively for 8 hours.  We will do a variety of activities to help you learn.  These will include: teaching old and new content, student-led work, group work, short tests and feedback. You will cover all the key areas of Mathematics listed below:

  • Number
  • Algebra
  • Geometry
  • Ratio and Proportion
  • Statistics and Probability

We are highly experienced teachers and we will do everything we can to make sure you have understood the subject material and are ready to move on. We will focus on both higher tier and foundation tier depending on your requirements.

What am I expected to bring with me?

All students will receive a  resource pack that has all the resources they will need for the sessions.  However, students are asked to bring along pens, pencils and a notepad/paper and a scientific calculator.

English Language

 

Who is this course for?

The GCSE English Language revision courses are for students in Year 11 as well as students that are re-sitting.  Our GCSE English Language revision course will help you improve your skills and knowledge and boost your confidence so you get the best result in your examinations in November.

What will I be taught?

Over the course of the two days, you will have 8 hours intensive tuition.  There will be a variety of activities to help you learn including group activities, individual tasks, past paper review and discussion. You will cover key areas of the curriculum, including:

  • Reading and understanding literary amd non literary texts;
  • Analysing how meaning is conveyed and recognising stylistic effects of language;
  • Creative writing, such as description and narrative
  • Writing non-literary texts such as articles, letters, essays;
  • Technical accuracy in spelling, punctuation and grammar

You will also develop essential examination skills, such as ;

  • recognizing command words and types of question in order to respond appropriately;
  • Understanding how marks are allocated and managing your time

We are highly experienced teachers and we will do everything we can to make sure you have understood the subject material and are ready to move on.
