11 Plus

What is the 11 Plus?

The 11+ is a selective exam used by a handful of counties including Herts and Bucks schools .  The South West Herts Consortium test is the umbrella name given to the exam children sit locally in South Hertfordshire.

Which schools are involved in Herts?

Rickmansworth, St Clement Danes, Croxley Danes, Parmiter’s, Queens’, Watford Grammar School for Girls and Watford Grammar School for Boys.

Why use a Tutor?

Any child sitting the 11+ will benefit from familiarising themselves with the format and types of question set. There is no scope for covering these within our current children’s state school curriculum, and therefore they must do a certain amount of regular practice to develop the requisite speed and accuracy demanded by the test.

Croxley Tutors will be running weekly sessions from September 2018  to help children in Years 4 & 5 preparing to take the 11+.  Please get in touch with us if you would like more information on the 11+ or to book your child into our tailored Y4 or Y5 specific sessions.

We meet every child and their parent or guardian, for an initial hour long 1:1 assessment of English, Verbal Reasoning and Maths skills, in order for us to set them at ease and establish a baseline from which to start their preparation. It does not matter if you or your child is new to what’s involved and have no prior experience!

We are a small team of trained teachers covering the following topics

and  Verbal Reasoning

We can work with your child on specific areas , such as non verbal reasoning , should your child be taking Bucks entrance tests.  Furthermore, we can also help with Common Entrance preparation for all Independent and Public school exams.
